Students in Rhetoric have entered Unit 2, charged with learning about Information Disorder in order to up their digital/media literacy. We've learned about bots and disinformation, confirmation bias and spin. Our work will require us to read current texts from various news outlets and determine if the site/publisher and/or the article/author are credible as sources and to determine what we are reading: news, analysis, or opinion. It's a lot to take in, but students are grasping the new knowledge and aware of the unique problems our technology and changing face of journalism create for us.
